Vicksburg National Military Park

Images courtesy of Ashley Sumner

The Vicksburg National Military Park is located in Vicksburg, Mississippi and is a must-see for all, especially those interested in history. The civil war was fought here and in the park you can see all the hills and trenches that were dug. There are memorials all around the park as well as grave sites and cannons. There is a memorial for each state that was represented in the civil war and the one shown above is the memorial for the state of Illinois. I believe it is the largest one and one is actually able to walk inside. This is a great place for all ages and sizes. I encourage all of you to check it out at least once.
