Ever feel like teaching your children more about culture, but are too afraid some modern art museums may be too much? Look no further than the de Grummond children's museum located conveniently on the campus of Southern Miss in the heart of Hattiesburg. This museum has a vast collection of children's books and other interesting artifacts on display for all to see. It hosts a variety of works any child could be interested in some of which include fables, fairytales, religious works, even Curious George.
Even if you are not a child but just love children's stories, this place is a definite must-see. The museum was dedicated to Lena de Grummond who was a professor at USM. She desired people to know first-hand the things that it took to be a children's book author and even had stories, drawings, etc. and eventually donated them to the school.
